Capitula discoid, erect, 7–20 in terminal corymbs; branches and stalks of the individual capitula slightly arachnoid to almost glabrous; involucre broadly cylindrical, 6–7 mm long, 6–7 mm in diameter, somewhat pubescent or arachnoid at base; bracts of calyculus 3–8, lanceolate, 2–3 mm long, sparsely arachnoid; phyllaries 10–14, dull dark green, 6–7 mm long, glabrous, abruptly tapered and ciliate-bearded at the apex..
