Characteristics

Liana twining to 1.5–10 m high or long, rather succulent; stems up to 1.5 cm in diameter, glabrous, developing a grey bark when old.. Leaves glossy, triangular, rhombic-triangular, oblong-triangular or ovate in outline, 3.8–10 cm long, 1.5–9 cm wide, rounded to truncate or weakly cordate and shortly decurrent onto the petiole, margins entire or remotely paucidentate or paucilobulate in lower half to coarsely sinuate-dentate with apiculate teeth, apex obtuse to acuminate, glabrous to moderately densely pubescent, 5–7-veined from base; petiole glabrous or with a few hairs on the margins near the base, exauriculate, 1.4–5.6 cm long.. Capitula discoid, many in usually dense, spreading, terminal compound corymbs, sweet-scented; involucre cylindrical, 5.5–9 mm long, 2.5–3.5 mm in diameter; bracts of calyculus 3–5, lax, oblong-linear or oblong-lanceolate, 1.5–5 mm long, obtuse, shortly ciliate at the apex or glabrous; phyllaries 8, green, 5–8.5 mm long, glabrous or hairy at apex.. Ray florets 0; disc florets 15–20, yellow or creamy yellow; corolla 6.5–9 mm long, expanded from below the middle, glabrous; lobes 1–1.9 mm long..
