Characteristics

A multi-stemmed, erect shrub with a rootstock, 0.3-0.5 m tall, 0.3 m across. Leaves erect, 20-50 mm long, 15-25 mm wide, hairless when mature, dissected, with 15-45 rounded tips with fine points; stalk 20-25 mm long. Flowerhead globose, 15-20 mm across, 1-7 per branch, comprising a solitary headlet of 10-25 flowers, with a sweet scent; flowerhead stalk 10-32 mm long, densely covered with hairs. Involucral bracts ovate. Perianth yellow or pink, with adpressed, short, yellow or white hairs. Style hairy in lower third, curving inward, 6-8 mm long. Pollen presenter 0.5 mm long, club-shaped. Fruits with the beak-like base of the style retained.
