Characteristics

An erect shrub 0.3-0.5 m tall, 0.3 m across. Main stem 10 mm in diameter. Leaves crowded, curved upwards, 15-25 mm long, 12-18 mm wide, with grey hairs, dissected, with 7-11 blunt tips with fine points; stalk 5 mm long. Flowerhead cylindrical, 20-25 mm long, 15-20 mm across, comprising a solitary headlet of 15-20 flowers, with a sweet scent; flowerhead stalk 5-15 mm long. Involucral bracts lanceolate. Perianth carmine or brown, with short, adpressed, silver hairs. Style curved inwards, 10 mm long. Pollen presenter 1 mm long, club-shaped. Flowers: June to October.
