Characteristics

A multi-stemmed, erect shrub with a rootstock, 0.3-0.5 m tall, up to 1 m across. Stems short and erect. Leaves hairless when mature, curved upwards, 25-65 mm long, 10-30 mm wide, dissected, with 7-11 tips with fine points; stalk 15-20 mm long. Flowerhead globose, 15-25 mm across, comprising a solitary headlet of 15-20 flowers, with a sweet scent; flowerhead stalk 15-30 mm long, with long hairs. Involucral bracts ovate, with long hairs. Perianth pink, with spreading to adpressed, long, silver hairs. Style straight, 6-10 mm long, hairless. Pollen presenter 2 mm long, club-shaped. Flowers: July to October.
