Characteristics

A prostrate shrub with a rootstock, 0.1 m tall, up to 1 m across. Branches hairless. Leaves pointing vertically from a horizontal stem, 25-70 mm long, 17-23 mm wide, hairless when mature, stout, dissected, with 27-34 rounded tips with fine points; stalk 20-25 mm long. Flowerhead globose, 15-25 mm across, 1-50 per branch, lying on ground, comprising a solitary headlet of 12-18 flowers, with a sweet scent; flowerhead stalk 20-50 mm long, hairless. Involucral bracts ovate, scattered. Perianth pink to brown, with short, adpressed, silky hairs. Style hairless, curving inward, 9-12 mm long. Pollen presenter 0.5 mm long, club-shaped. Flowers: September to November.
