Characteristics

An erect shrub 0.6-1 m tall, 0.5 m across. Main stem 10 mm in diameter. Leaves curved upwards, 30-50 mm long, 15-20 mm wide, with silver, silky hairs, dissected, with 25-30 rounded tips; stalk 5-10 mm long. Flowerhead globose, 20-25 mm across, comprising a solitary headlet of 12-25 flowers, with a sweet scent; flowerhead stalk 6-40 mm long, densely covered with hairs. Involucral bracts ovate-acute. Perianth silver, with adpressed, silver, silky hairs. Style hairy in lower third, curving inward, 12-13 mm long. Pollen presenter 2 mm long, club-shaped, knee-bent at base. Flowers: August to November.
