Characteristics

An erect shrub 0.4-0.8 m tall, 0.5 m across. Main stem 15 mm in diameter. Leaves curved upwards, 12-35 mm long, 10-25 mm wide, with silver, silky hairs, dissected, with 25-50 tips with red, rounded calluses; stalk 5-10 mm long. Flowerhead globose, 25-30 mm across, comprising a solitary headlet of 12-25 flowers; flowerhead stalk 20-45 mm long. Involucral bracts ovate. Perianth yellow, with short, adpressed, silver hairs. Style hairy in lower third, curving slightly inwards, 14-15 mm long. Pollen presenter 2 mm long, linear, knee-bent at base. Flowers: August to December.
