Characteristics

An erect shrub 0.8-2 m tall, 0.5 m across. Main stem 20 mm in diameter. Leaves erect, 45-100 mm long, 30-40 mm wide, hairless, dissected, with 10-20 tips with sharp points; stalk 15-50 mm long. Flowerhead globose, 45-55 mm across, 1-8 per branch, comprising a solitary headlet of 45-60 flowers; flowerhead stalk 25-45 mm long, hairless. Involucral bracts prominent, larger than flowerheads, 20-40 mm long, 8-15 mm wide, ovate, ivory to pink, hairless. Perianth white tipped with pink, with long, silky hairs. Style straight, 8-12 mm long, hairless. Pollen presenter 2 mm long, linear to thread-like. Flowers: July to October.
