Characteristics

An erect shrub 0.2-0.4 m tall, 0.5 m across. Main stem 15 mm in diameter. Leaves curved upwards, 25-70 mm long, 30-60 mm wide, hairless, dissected, with 20-25 tips with sharp, fine points; stalk 20-25 mm long. Flowerhead globose, 25-50 mm long, 35-45 mm across, lax, up to 3 per branch, each comprising 4-8 headlets of 20-40 flowers each, with a sweet scent; flowerhead stalk 6-10 mm long. Involucral bracts few, closely overlapping. Perianth cream, with adpressed, white, silky hairs. Style curved 8-10 mm long. Pollen presenter 2 mm long, club-shaped, knee-bent at base. Flowers: August to October.
