Serruria lacunosa Rourke

A sparsely branched, erect shrub 0.5-1 m ta ll, 0.7 m across. Main stem 20 mm in diameter. Leaves 60-80 mm long, 40-60 mm wide, stout, hairless when mature, dissected, with 7-12 tips; stalk 20-25 mm long. Flowerhead globose, 100-170 mm long, 25-30 mm across, comprising a solitary headlet of 28-35 flowers; flowerhead stalk 85-140 mm long, several flowerheads borne from the axils of uppermost leaves. Perianth with silky hairs. lnvolucral bracts lanceolate, hairless. Style straight, 10-12 mm long, bending backwards to face the.flowerhead stalk during flowering, hairy on lower two-thirds. Pollen presenter 1.5 mm long, club-shaped. Flowers: September to April, mainly September to December.
