Characteristics

An erect, sparsely branched shrub 0.8-2 m tall, 0.3 m across. Main stem 10-15 mm in diameter. Leaves erect, 10-25 mm long, 20-25 mm wide, with silver, silky hairs, dissected, with 15-25 tips; stalk 2-8 mm long. Flowerhead globose, 25-35 mm across, 1-3 per branch, comprising a solitary headlet of 15-25 flowers; flowerhead stalk 50-70 mm long, hairy, held almost horizontally to stem. Involucral bracts ovate. Perianth 18-20 mm long, white, with spreading, white, silky hairs. Style slightly curved, 16-18 mm long, bending out towards ovary in open flowers. Pollen presenter 1 mm long, club-shaped. Flowers: September to November.
