Characteristics

An erect shrub 0.8-1.5 m tall, 0.5 m across. Main stem 15 mm in diameter. Leaves curved upwards, 30-60 mm long, 20-25 mm wide, hairless, dissected, with 25-60 tips with fine points; stalk 15-25 mm long. Flowerhead globose, 20-30 mm across, 2-7 per branch, comprising a solitary headlet of 15-20 flowers; flowerhead stalk 15-30 mm long, hairy to hairless. Involucral bracts prominent, 8-25 mm long, 4-14 mm wide, ovate, pink, margin hairy. Perianth pink, densely covered with long, spreading, silky hairs. Style straight, 6-11 mm long, hairless. Pollen presenter 2 mm long, club-shaped. Flowers: August to October.
