Characteristics

A prostrate shrub 0.1-0.3 m tall, up to 0.5 m across, with a rootstock and creeping, red branches. Leaves curved upwards to pointing vertically from a horizontal stem, 35-45 mm long, 20-25 mm wide, hairless, dissected, with 12-18 rounded tips with fine points; stalk 20-25 mm long. Flowerhead globose, 20-25 mm long, 25-30 mm across, lax, comprising 5-25 headlets of 6-10 flowers each; headlet stalk short and thick, hairy. Involucral bracts absent. Perianth pink, with adpressed, short, silky hairs. Style curved, 8 mm long. Pollen presenter 0.5 mm long, club-shaped. Flowers: September and October.
