Characteristics

A sprawling, multi-stemmed shrub with a rootstock, 0.3-0.8 m tall, 0.8 m across. Leaves erect, 5-25 mm long, 5-10 mm wide, hairless when mature, dissected, with 3-7 sharp tips; stalk 3-5 mm long. Flowerhead globose, 15-25 mm across, comprising a solitary headlet of 10-18 flowers, with a faint coconut smell; flowerhead stalk 6-20 mm long, with long hairs. Involucral bracts lanceolate, margin hairy. Perianth pink, hairless at base, tips with silky, silver-grey hairs. Style straight, 6-9 mm long, hairless. Pollen presenter 2 mm long, club-shaped. Flowers: August to October.
