Characteristics

An erect shrub up to 1.5 m tall, 0.5 m across. Main stem 20 mm in diameter. Leaves stout, curved upwards, 65-140 mm long, 30-35 mm wide, hairless when mature, dissected, with 12-16 tips with pointed calluses; stalk 20-45 mm long. Flowerhead flat-topped, 30-45 mm long, 65-120 mm across, dense, comprising 3-25 headlets of 20-35 flowers each; flowerhead stalk short, hairy. Involucral bracts ovate. Perianth silvery cream, with adpressed, white, silky hairs. Style straight, 3-7 mm long. Pollen presenter 0.5 mm long, conical. Flowers: August to October.
