Differing as follows: Twigs, buds, stipules, petioles, midrib on both surfaces and nerves beneath, panicles and calyx outside at first densely scabrid fulvous pubescent, becoming sparse on nervation beneath, caducous on calyx but otherwise persistent. Leaves thickly coriaceous; base usually with obtuse or cordate base; apex shortly acuminate or obtuse; nerves 12-17 pairs.
