Erect to scrambling semi-succulent shrubby herb with foetid smell, 0.6–3.6(–7) m high or long; stems succulent, white-tomentose, ± glabrescent.. Leaves petiolate; blade subsucculent, silvery-white or grey-green to light pale green, ovate, lanceolate, ovate-rhombic or oblong, 4.5–25 cm long, 2.3–16 cm wide, base rounded to cuneate and shortly decurrent onto the petiole, margins remotely sinuate-denticulate or sinuate-serrate, apex obtuse to rounded, apiculate, tomentose to thinly floccose above, densely tomentose beneath; petiole densely tomentose, exauriculate, 1.5–8 cm long.. Capitula discoid, numerous in large terminal stalked loose to contracted thyrses of stalked congested subumbelliform corymbs; stalks of individual capitula short, arachnoid-tomentose; involucre cylindrical, 6.5–14 mm long, ± 2.5 mm in diameter; bracts of calyculus 2–6, narrowly lanceolate, 1.5–6 mm long, arachnoid at least at the base and on margins; phyllaries 8–13, green, 6–142 mm long, glabrous or thinly hairy and glabrescent.. Ray florets absent; disc florets yellow, corolla 6–12 mm long, tube glabrous, gradually expanded from below the middle, lobes 1–1.7 mm long.. Achenes 3–3.7 mm long, glabrous or shortly sparsely hairy; pappus 6–12 mm long.
