pseudoterminal becoming lateral, the peduncle to 5 cm long, slender, in fruit elongating and pendant; pedicels filiform, to 15 mm long, dark-colored, sparingly hispid, articulating just above the base. Flowers inconspicuous, calyx 4-5 mm long, purplish, lobed more than halfway down, the lobes lanceolate, some some-times larger than the others; corolla white, 1-2 cm across; filaments basally con-nate, the anthers 3-4 mm long. Fruit ellipsoid to ovoid, 3 cm long, green with dark stripes.
A climbing or sprawling plant. It grows 2 m long. The fruit is round and 3 cm across. They are like pepino.
