Characteristics

Corolla white with lip variously marked in pink to purple, or mauve, 4.5–9.5 mm. long; tube c. 2.5–5(6) mm. long, c. 1.5 mm. broad at base, becoming broader above; upper lip broadly ovate, lobes subtriangular, rounded; lower lip subcircular to broadly obovate, lobes rounded.

Perennial herb (3)6–20 cm. tall, glabrous except occasionally with scattered fine hairs on leaves and young stems, or finely, densely, minutely pubescent on stems only; stems procumbent, much branched, subterete.
Leaves opposite, ovate to lanceolate-ovate; lamina (4.5)7–20(37) x (3)4–10(22) mm., acute, subcuneate at base, thin, coarsely serrate-dentate; petiole about equalling lamina.
Capsule 4.5–6(7.5) x (1.5)2.5–3(4.5) mm., ellipsoid-conical including beak 1.5–2.25 mm. long, glabrous, pale yellow-brown.
Calyx 3–5.5 mm. long, lobes 2.5–5 mm. long, narrowly linear-triangular, subequal, mid-nerve prominent.
Pedicels 3–5(7) mm. long, filiform, decurved in fruit.
Bracteoles 0.5–1(2) mm. long, narrowly linear.
Flowers solitary or in 2(3)-flowered cymes.
