Stems twining. Leaves linear to narrowly ovate, acuminate, cuneate at base; lamina 6–16 cm long, 2–10 mm wide, 3-veined; petiole 1–5 mm long. Flowers in 1–4-flowered cymes to 10 cm long; peduncle 3–7 cm long; pedicels 15–18 mm long. Perianth segments narrowly ovate, long-acute to acuminate, 25–28 mm long, deep red. Stamens 25–30 mm long; anthers c. 3 mm long, with appendages c. 3 mm long. Capsule acuminate, c. 15 mm long. Seeds 2–4, 5–7 mm long; appendages 1–2 mm long.
