Characteristics

Twiggy shrub, with rusty or greyish simple-pubescent young stems. Leaves: lamina broadly obovate to orbicular, (2–) 4–7 mm long and wide, cuneate at base, obtuse to emarginate and recurved-apiculate at apex, flat or folded, densely greyish-stellate above, appressed-villous beneath, occasionally quite glabrous both sides; petiole (0.5–) 1–2 mm long; stipules narrowly triangular, 2–4 mm long, free or shortly connate. Inflorescences to 1 cm wide, with 10–20 flowers, usually subtended by whitish floral leaves. Flowers silvery-sericeous. Hypanthium tube 0.9–1.2 mm long, 1.2–1.5 mm diam. Sepals 1.2–1.4 mm long. Petals 0.7–0.8 mm long, indistinctly clawed. Disc conspicuous. Ovary roof glabrous; style 1.7–1.9 mm long. Fruit 2.2–3 mm long. Seed 1.6–1.8 mm long.
