Characteristics

Shrub 0.5–2 m high with dense, appressed, silvery-villous indumentum on young stems, leaf undersurfaces and flowers. Leaves: lamina oblanceolate to narrowly obovate, 6–16 mm long, 2–4 mm wide, narrowly cuneate base, obtuse to acute, recurved-apiculate apex, flat or folded, green, glabrous and scabrid above; petiole 1–3 mm long; stipules narrowly triangular, 1.5–3.1 mm long, free. Inflorescences to 0.5 cm wide, with 5–10 flowers, subtended by whitish floral leaves. Hypanthium tube 2–2.5 mm long, c. 1.5 mm diam. Sepals 1.5–2 mm long, erect or spreading. Petals c. 1.5 mm long, distinctly clawed. Disc conspicuous, deeply scooped between stamens. Ovary roof glabrous; style 2.9–3.5 mm long. Fruit c. 2.5 mm long. Seed c. 2.6 mm long.
