Characteristics

Diffuse, prostrate shrub to 0.2 m high, with sparse, rusty, stellate hairs on young stems. Leaves: lamina obovate to broadly obovate, 4–8 mm long, 2–5 mm wide, cuneate base, recurved margin, tridentate or emarginate apex, hispid above, villous beneath with rusty, simple hairs over dense, greyish, stellate pubescence; petiole 1–3 mm long; stipules broadly ovate, 1.5–3 mm long, connate. Inflorescences to 1 cm wide, with 5–15 flowers. Flowers densely silvery-villous. Hypanthium tube 0.2–0.3 mm long, 1–1.1 mm diam. Sepals 0.9–1.1 mm long. Petals 0.5–0.6 mm long, distinctly clawed. Disc conspicuous. Ovary roof stellate-hairy; style 0.6–0.8 mm long. Fruit 2–2.5 mm long. Seed c. 1.3 mm long.
