Characteristics

Erect or spreading, wiry shrub to 0.4 m high, with sparse, greyish or rusty, stellate hairs on young stems. Leaves: lamina obovate to almost flabellate, 2–4 (–10) mm long, 1.5–4 (–8) mm wide, cuneate base, rarely slightly recurved margin, tridentate apex, flat or folded, simple-pubescent or hispid above, greyish-pubescent with dense, stellate hairs beneath; petiole 0.3–1 mm long; stipules broadly triangular to rectangular, 1–1.5 mm long, connate. Inflorescences to 0.5 cm wide, with 2–10 flowers. Flowers densely greyish-pubescent with stellate hairs. Hypanthium tube to 0.2 mm long, 0.8–1 mm diam. Sepals 0.8–1.2 mm long. Petals 0.6–0.7 mm long, distinctly clawed. Disc conspicuous. Ovary roof stellate-hairy; style 0.5–0.8 mm long. Fruit 2–2.5 mm long. Seed 1.2–1.5 mm long.
