Characteristics

Erect, dwarf shrub to 35 cm high, with dense, appressed, rusty-stellate pubescence on young stems. Leaves: lamina obovate to broadly obovate, 2–5 mm long, 2.5–4.5 mm wide, cuneate base, folded, recurved-apiculate apex, glabrous and tuberculate above, densely appressed rusty-villous beneath; petiole 0.3–1 mm long; stipules triangular, 1–2.5 mm long, connate. Inflorescences to 0.7 cm wide, with 5–10 flowers. Flowers silvery or rusty appressed-sericeous. Hypanthium tube 1.2–1.5 mm long, 1.5 mm diam. Sepals 1.3–1.5 mm long. Petals 1.1–1.2 mm long, distinctly clawed. Disc inconspicuous. Ovary roof stellate-hairy; style 2-2.5 mm long. Mature fruit and seeds not seen.
