Characteristics

Small shrub, with greyish or rusty, sparsely to (rarely) densely stellate-pubescent young stems. Leaves: lamina obovate to broadly obovate, 3–12 mm long, 2–7 mm wide, cuneate at base, flat, folded or the margin recurved, emarginate to acute at apex, glabrous or pubescent above, pubescent to villous beneath with grey or rusty, simple and/or stellate hairs; petiole 0.5–2.0 mm long; stipules ovate to broadly triangular, 0.8–3.5 mm long, connate. Inflorescences to 0.8 cm wide, with 10–20 flowers. Flowers densely greyish-pubescent or villous with simple and/or stellate hairs. Hypanthium tube to 0.4 mm long, 0.6–1.2 mm diam. Sepals 0.8–1.2 mm long. Petals 0.5–0.7 mm long, distinctly clawed. Disc conspicuous. Ovary roof stellate-hairy; style 0.6–0.7 mm long. Fruit 2–2.2 mm long. Seed 1.1–1.5 mm long.
