Characteristics

Shrub c. 0.5 m high, sometimes spinescent, with densely grey-pubescent young stems. Leaves: lamina obovate to broadly obovate, flat or folded, 5–8 mm long, 4–5 mm wide, base cuneate, margin flat or recurved, apex obtuse with recurved point, densely grey-green minutely tomentose above, densely grey-pubescent below, margins and veins often rusty; petiole 1–2 mm long; stipules 1.3–2.5 mm long, triangular, connate in lower 1/4. Inflorescences 5–8 mm wide with up to 20 flowers. Flowers simple-villous. Hypanthium tube 2.5–3 mm long, c. 0.5 mm diam. Sepals c. 0.8 mm long. Petals c. 0.8 mm long, distinctly clawed. Stamens c. 0.7 mm long. Disc conspicuous, deeply scooped between filaments. Ovary roof glabrous; style 2.2–3 mm long. Fruit c. 3.5 mm long. Seed 2.4–2.6 mm long.
