Characteristics

Compact shrub to 15 cm high, with silvery or rusty, simply pubescent or pilose young stems. Leaves: lamina narrowly ovate to broadly obovate, 2.5–14 mm long, 0.8–5 mm wide, base cuneate, flat and folded, apex obtuse to acute, densely appressed-pilose below, minutely hispid above; petiole 1–3 mm long; stipules broadly triangular or ovate, 1.5–4 mm long, ± sheathing the stems. Inflorescences 0.5–1 cm wide, with 10–30 flowers. Flowers white-woolly with long, crisped hairs. Hypanthium tube 1.5–2.6 mm long, 1–1.4 mm diam., moderately woolly with an almost glabrous base. Sepals 0.8–1.4 mm long, densely woolly. Petals 0.5–0.7 mm long. Disc apparently absent. Ovary roof glabrous; style 1.6–3 mm long. Fruit (1.6–) 1.8–2.6 mm long. Seed c. 1.4–1.6 mm long.
