Characteristics

Spreading shrub 10–20 cm high, with a sparse indumentum of white stellate and simple hairs on young stems, glabrescent. Leaves: lamina cuneate to obcordate, 8–14 mm long, 3–5 mm wide, base cuneate, margin recurved, apex emarginate, 2-lobed, often apiculate between the lobes, upper surface green, papillose, white villous below, midrib and margins rusty; petiole 1–2 mm long; stipules 2–3 mm long, broadly triangular to ovate, connate for most of their length. Inflorescences 5–8 mm wide. Flowers densely pubescent or villous with spreading stellate and simple hairs. Hypanthium tube 0.4 mm long, 0.2 mm diam. Sepals 0.8–1 mm long. Petals 0.5–0.6 mm long, shortly clawed. Stamens 0.4–0.5 mm long. Disc conspicuous. Ovary roof stellate-pubescent; style 0.6–0.8 mm long. Fruit 1.8–2 mm long. Seed c. 1 mm long.
