Characteristics

Low shrub to 30 cm high, with rusty-stellate young stems. Leaves: lamina narrowly obovate to obovate, (8–) 12–16 (–22) mm long, (3–) 4–5 (–8) mm wide, base cuneate, folded only when young, ± recurved, apex acute to obtuse, straight-apiculate, glabrous and scabrid above, densely rusty-villous beneath; petiole 1–2 mm long; stipules ovate, 2.5–3.5 mm long, connate. Inflorescences to 1 cm wide, with 8–30 flowers. Flowers densely silvery-villous or-pubescent. Hypanthium tube 2–3 mm long, 1.7–2 mm diam.  Sepals 1–1.5 mm long. Petals 0.7–0.8 mm long, distinctly clawed. Disc conspicuous. Ovary roof glabrous; style 2.2–3.2 mm long. Fruit 2–3 mm long. Seed 1.1–1.3 mm long.
