Characteristics

Shrub or small tree to 4-5 m tall. Branchlets terete, minutely hairy, glabrescent. Juvenile leaves to 10 cm long, finely divided, with narrowly linear lobes; petiole to c. 10 mm long. Adult leaves simple, 5-18 cm long, to c. 1.2 cm wide; petiole to c. 10 mm long; lamina narrowly lanceolate, with margins not undulate, with longitudinal veins, discolorous, glossy dark green above, dull and pale green beneath. Conflorescence axillary, pilose; peduncle 2-4 cm long; umbel of 12-20 flowers. Flowers to c. 10 mm long, creamy white, pilose; pedicel to 12 mm long. Hypogynous gland well-developed, covering most of receptacle, very oblique. Follicles ±cylindrical, to 10 cm long. Seeds oblong, 15-20 mm long including wing, c. 4 mm wide.
