Characteristics

Herb with perennial rootstock. Stems few to many, short-lived, to 10 cm long. Leaves mainly basal, crowded, soft; petiole terete, 3-13 mm long; lamina divided up to 7 times into terete, slightly curved lobes; ultimate lobes erect to spreading, 2-20 mm long. Scape 10-60 cm tall, simple or sparingly branched; heads 10-15 mm diam., sometimes slightly elongated; bracts lanceolate, acute, 1.5-2 mm long, glabrous. Perianth 5.5-7 mm long; limb narrower than tube. Nut 2 mm diam., densely silky.
