Branches virgate, glabrous, with the leaf-scars rather distant and only slightly prominent; leaves lanceolate, acuminate, 6 lin. long, about 1 lin. wide, glabrous; flowers borne in the axils of leaves for some distance down the stem; bracteoles 3 lin. long, oblong, acuminate, glabrous; calyx-tube glabrous, 11 lin. long, 0.25 lin. wide; lobes lanceolate, 2 lin. long, 0.5 lin. wide; petals 8, 0.5 lin. long, subulate shorter than the surrounding hairs; anthers oblong, shortly apiculate; ovary oblong, glabrous; style filiform, 7 lin. long; stigma penicillate.
