Characteristics

An undershrub; branches tetragonal at the apex, quite glabrous; leaves opposite, e recto-patent, at length with the internodes 2 lin. long, acerose, acute, 3 lin. long, glabrous; bracteoles 2, linear, acute, 2 lin. long; flowers in the upper half of the stem; calyx glabrous; tube cylindrical, slightly inflated above, 4 lin. long; lobes linear, acute, 2 lin. long, 0.5 lin. wide; petals 8, oblong, about 0.5 lin. long, surrounded by hairs of equal length; anthers oblong, inserted a short distance down the tube; ovary oblong, glabrous.
