Characteristics

Stems to 30 cm long, pubescent, glabrescent. Leaves pinnatipartite, somewhat undulate; lowest pair of lobes again pinnatipartite; petiole 1.5-6 cm long; lamina 4-7 cm long, 6-11 cm wide; ultimate lobes lanceolate to triangular, 3-6 mm wide, acute, pungent, gently undulate, concave; reticulation open. Spikes 3-8 cm long; flowers openly spaced; peduncle 4-9 cm long, branched, puberulous to pubescent; rachis puberulous to pubescent; bracts 2-2.5 mm long, pubescent to almost glabrous. Perianth ascending, opening moderately widely, puberulous outside, hairy inside about middle; adaxial tepal 5.5-6 mm long, 2.2-2.7 mm wide, gently hooded; abaxial tepal 4.2-4.3 mm long. Stigma broadly obovate, shallowly emarginate, almost flat, 0.9-1.2 mm long, 1-1.3 mm wide; ovary hirsute. Fruit obovoid on thick neck, 7 mm long, hirsute.
