Characteristics

Stems to 4 cm long, several to many from taproot, pubescent. Leaves deeply divided 2-4 times, multiplanar; lamina 5-14 cm long, 5-12 cm wide; lobes linear, usually 1.5-3 mm wide, obtuse, openly reticulate, glabrous, passing into 4-14 cm long petiole. Spikes 7-14 cm long, usually exceeding leaves; flowers openly spaced; peduncle 3-9 cm long, glabrous to sparsely appressed-puberulous, branched; rachis glabrous to appressed-puberulous; bracts broad, 2-2.5 cm long, obtuse. Perianth opening ±widely, glabrous; adaxial tepal gently curved, 6-7 mm long, 2.5-3.2 mm wide; abaxial tepal 5-5.5 mm long, acute, with apex straight or slightly recurved. Stigma ovate to obcordate, very concave, incurved at apex, entire or emarginate, 1.5-2 mm long, 1.1-1.2 mm wide; ovary puberulous. Fruit obovoid on short neck, obtusely beaked, 6-9 mm long, puberulous.
