Characteristics

Plants 50-120 mm high. Corm laterally compressed and lens-shaped, 10-25 mm wide with wide, fan-shaped basal ridge. Leaves 1(2), falcate, mostly channelled with pale adaxial groove but terete distally, 50-150 mm long and 1.5-3.0 mm diam., smooth or ciliolate on margins. Flowers salver-shaped, pale to deep violet or white, sometimes darker at base of tepals, with greenish yellow or orange oval-shaped marking at base of tepals; perianth tube narrowly trumpet-shaped, widening in distal 5 mm, 30-40 mm long; tepals obovate, 15-30 x 7-14 mm, obtuse. Stamens suberect; filaments 6-9 mm long, white, ciliate or shortly bearded basally; anthers 5-10 mm long, slightly diverging, yellow or orange. Style 45-65 mm long, erect or curved outward distally, dividing near tips of anthers, branches ± 5 mm long, lacerate-multifid. Capsules ellipsoid, up to 20 mm long. Seeds subglobose, ± 2 mm diam., dark brown, testa rugulose.
