Characteristics

A small tree. It grows 15 m tall. The bark is greyish-brown. The small branches are 4 sided. The leaves are simple and opposite. The leaf blade is 9-17 cm long by 4-8 cm wide. They narrow to the base and are rounded at the tip. The flowers are in the axils of the leaves. The fruit is a pink berry 6 cm long by 1 cm wide.
