Leaves mostly opposite; petiole 5–15(–30) mm. long; lamina ± coriaceous, green or yellow-green, lanceolate to ovate-elliptic, 6–14 cm. long, 1.5–8 cm. wide, generally slightly acuminate at the apex, cuneate to rounded or cordate at the base, glabrous, with 4–8 pairs of lateral curved-ascending nerves, the second pair sometimes stronger and ascending to upper half..
