Characteristics

Leaves up to 12 cm long, lobes 4-6, terminal lobe small, triangular, acute, lateral lobes narrowly triangular, acute to acuminate, recurved, upper margin often with filiform teeth, also in the sinuses, petioles narrowly winged. Scapes up to 15 cm, glabrous. Heads c. 4 cm across when fully expanded. Inner involucral bracts c. 15 mm long, outer c. 9 x 2 mm, reflexed. Ligules yellow, backs dark. Style branches yellowish, pollen present. Achenes straw-coloured, 3 mm long, cone 1 mm. Pappus creamy white.
