Characteristics

Leaf blades mostly drying brownish in colour, 7–16(18.5) × 3–8(9) cm, elliptic or broadly elliptic, abruptly acuminate at apex, acute or rounded at base, subcoriaceous to coriaceous, glossy and glabrous above, glabrous to sparsely pubescent with denser hairs on the nerves beneath; lateral nerves in 5–10 main pairs; tertiary nerves finely reticulate; domatia usually present, hairy or ± glabrous, sometimes present along the lateral nerves; petiole 0.3–0.8(1–2) cm long, often sparsely pubescent; stipules blackened (in dry state), 0.3–1 cm long, ovate-obtuse or triangular-acute, glabrous.

Corolla white or greenish-white, pubescent or glabrous outside; tube 3–5 mm long; lobes 4–4.5 × c. 1.5–2.5 mm, oblong, rounded.
Fruit greyish-or whitish-green (dark when dry), c. 8 mm in diameter, glabrescent, containing 4–6 seeds; calyx limb persistent.
Seeds light brown, shiny, 4–6 mm across, smooth.
Placenta fleshy, with c. 4 impressed ovules.
