Characteristics

Shrub or small tree 1.8–7 m. tall, glabrous; young branches greenish brown and shiny when dry, square with small wings at angles; older stems with flaking brown bark.. Leaf-blades greyish green to brown when dry, oblanceolate to narrowly obovate, 7–15.5 cm. long, 1.7–5.2 cm. wide; apex with ± linear cauda up to 2 cm. long, rounded at tip; base cuneate, moderately shiny on both faces; domatia present; petioles 1–2 cm. long, slender; stipules broadly ovate or somewhat triangular, 2–3.5 mm. long, acute or shortly apiculate, pilose inside.. Inflorescences terminal, sometimes with an additional pair of pedunculate inflorescences arising from the node below, sessile, lax; primary branches 0.9–1.8 cm. long; pedicels 0.5–1 cm. long; bracteoles small, scale-like.. Calyx glabrous; tube ± 1.5 mm. long; limb 1.25–1.5 mm. long, divided for ± 1/3 of its length into oblong lobes, apiculate and overlapping..
