Leaves not fully mature at time of flowering; blades elliptic, 4–10 cm. long, 1.5–3.4 cm. wide, acute to shortly acuminate at apex, cuneate at base, glabrous to glabrescent, with puberulous midrib above and beneath; midrib pink; domatia absent or inconspicuous; petioles 2–5 mm. long, sparsely pubescent; apical stipule triangular, acuminate, up to 4 mm. long, scarious; stipules on mature stems truncate with small triangular lobe, ± 2 mm. long, turning dark when dry.. Inflorescences terminal on often very short lateral branches; inflorescence-branches (1–)2(–3) pairs, well spaced along the rachis and perpendicular to it, covered with short adpressed hairs; pedicels up to 2 mm. long (perhaps longer when mature), covered with short adpressed hairs; bracteoles small, present on pedicels.. Calyx-tube ± 1 mm. long, glabrous becoming pubescent towards base; limb ± 1 mm. long, divided to midpoint into rounded, slightly overlapping lobes.. Corolla only known from bud, glabrous outside, 4.5 mm. altogether.. Placenta bearing 2–4 impressed ovules. Fruit drying black, 4–5 mm. diameter, crowned by persistent calyx-limb; pedicel lengthening to 11 mm.. Seeds 4–5 per fruit, light brown, 3 mm. long, smooth, with ± circular excavation.
