Perennial herb or dwarf shrub, up to 0.5 m high. Stems spreading or ascending, glabrous. Leaves pinnate, with 4-8 leaflets; leaflets subcuneate, oblong or narrowly ovate, 10-30 x 5-14 mm, apex obtuse or acute, upper surface glabrescent, lower surface glabrous or hirsute; stipules subulate. Flowers: corolla reddish purple; Sep.-Mar. Pods pubescent.
Straggling subshrub, thinly hairy; bracts minute, triangular, persistent. Leaves pinnate, leaflets linear-elliptic; stipules small, triangular, 1-3-veined. Flowers scattered in slender, pedunculate racemes, pink or purple, 8-10 mm long.
