Characteristics

Leaves pinnate with 5–10 pairs of leaflets; petiole 2–3(5) mm long, petiole and rachis together 1.5–7 cm long, pubescent like the stem; leaflets 1–1.7 × 0.3–0.7 cm, obovate to oblanceolate, subcuneate at the base, rounded to emarginate at the apex; upper surface thinly pubescent, lower surface densely pubescent; stipules 2.5–7 × 0.2–0.5 mm, linear.

Flowers in terminal and axillary fairly lax racemes 3–10 cm long, and sometimes some in the axil of the uppermost leaves; bracts 2–3 × c.0.2 mm, linear; pedicels 3–5 mm long.
Calyx 6–8 mm long, covered with ± villous brown hairs; lateral teeth 2–4 times as long as the tube, upper teeth free almost to the base.
Seeds 9–10, c.3.5 × 2 × 1.2 mm, brown with light markings, asymmetrically reniform, with a small aril c.0.2 mm long.
Petals 7–9 mm long, pink (possibly varying to red, orange or yellow?).
Pods c.45 × 4.5–5 mm, brown, covered with brown hairs.
