Characteristics

Erect annual or short-lived perennial up to 2 m. tall.. Very closely related to T. holstii, but differs in the leaves being 3–5-foliolate with a rhachis up to 3 cm. long, including a petiole of up to 9 mm., prolonged up to 8 mm. beyond the lateral leaflets. The terminal pseudoracemes are usually longer and laxer than those of T. holstii and the flowers larger, the standard being up to 15 mm., the filament-sheath ± 12 mm. and the style ± 9 mm. long.
