Characteristics

Leaves with 4–8 pairs of leaflets; petiole and rachis together up to 6.5 cm long, appressed to ascending greyish pubescent; leaflets up to 25 × 15 mm, elliptic to obovate, rather narrowly rounded at the base, broadly rounded to subtruncate at the apex, not or very slightly mucronate, those on the lowermost leaf of each shoot usually densely appressed greyish pubescent and subsericeous on both surfaces, those on the other leaves appressed-pubescent beneath but glabrous abve with the margins tending to curve upwards; stipules 7–8 × 3–4 mm, triangular.

Calyx c.7 mm long, loosely appressed greyish pubescent, the teeth about equalling the campanulate part (the lower tooth slightly longer), the two upper teeth joined for most of their length to form a broad triangle with only the apices free as two closely adjacent prolongations c.0.7 mm long.
Flowers in short compact racemes exceeded by the leaves; bracts up to 5 × 2 mm, not concealing the pedicels of the developing flowers; pedicels 4–10 mm long, appressed or ascending greyish pubescent.
Petals 16–18 mm long, bright pink; standard almost as broad as long, broadly rounded to emarginate at the apex, broadly cuneate to subtruncate at the base.
Pods c.35 × 9 mm, broadly oblong, finely and densely pubescent-villous with irregularly arranged whitish appressed hairs.
Young branches appressed or ascending greyish pubescent.
Seeds 3–5, transversely elongate in the pod.
Ovary appressed-pubescent, style pubescent.
Stamen tube c.10 mm long.
