Characteristics

More or less prostrate perennial herb; indumentum of stems, leaf-rhachides and calyx spreading.. Leaves 5–11-foliolate; stipules narrow, 3–10 mm. long; rhachis, including a petiole of up to 35 mm., up to 8 cm. long, not prolonged beyond the lateral leaflets; leaflets linear-oblong, up to 35 mm. long and 6 mm. wide, glabrous above, appressed pubescent beneath.. Inflorescence a short pedunculate terminal pseudoraceme, subcapitate at the tip but with 2–3 separated nodes below; bracts narrowly triangular, 3–4 mm. long; pedicels 3–4 mm. long.. Calyx with a mixture of brown and white hairs, ± 6 mm. long, the teeth with acuminate tips, the upper 2 ± 1–2 mm., the lowest ± 3 mm. long.. Standard golden-brown tomentose outside, rose within, ± 8 mm. long and 10 mm. wide; wings and keel glabrous, pink or white.. Upper filament lightly attached, callous and bent 1 mm. above the base; filament-sheath ± 7 mm. long.. Style bent through 110° at the base then straight, pubescent within and in its upper half outside.. Pod straight, more or less horizontal, ± 4 cm. long and 5 mm. wide, brownish pubescent.. Seeds 4–6.
