Leaves spirally arranged, petiolate; lamina 3–10·5 x 1·5–4·5 cm., chartaceous, obovate to obovate-elliptic, sparsely pubescent or pilose to almost glabrous, apex acuminate, margin slightly crenulate or serrate-crenulate, base cuneate or narrowed; midrib appressed-pubescent beneath; lateral nerves 5–7 pairs, somewhat impressed above, prominent beneath; reticulation impressed above; petiole 1–2·5 cm. long.
Small tree or shrub, up to 7 m high. Bark on young branchlets not peeling off; branchlets appressed-pubes-cent. Leaves obovate to obovate-elliptic, base cuneate, apex acuminate, tertiary nerves and veins impressed above, raised below. Fruit 28-40 mm long. Flowers white.
Fruit greenish-yellow, 2·8–4 x 1·8–2·7 cm., broadly elliptic-oblong, minutely pubescent, apex acute to rounded or truncate, base subtruncate, stipe 2–3 mm. long.
Lower receptacle tomentose; upper receptacle pubescent at the base, glabrous towards the apex.
Inflorescences of axillary spikes 7–10 cm. long; peduncle 1·5–2 cm. long, appressed-pubescent.
Small tree up to 7 m. high or shrub; branchlets appressed-pubescent, glabrescent.
Stamens 3 mm. long; anthers 0·5 mm. long.
Sepals deltate.
Flowers white.
Disk barbate.
